2024 K2 Instrument Snowboard
For some of us each run at the resort is like listening to a jazz band play a live show - it’s spontaneous, making decisions on the fly, where to carve, where to slash, and how fast to roll into that side hit. The easiest way to describe it is that you simply get into the groove, and like a musician riffs on their stand-up bass, the K2 Instrument is the snowboard that you need to navigate the contours of the terrain as they come.
**Downsize 3-5 cm from your regular size due to Volume Shift Shape**
Directional Camber Profile – Camber between the feet and a slight rocker in the tip gives you all of the power and energy of a cambered snowboard, but with a little extra float on those deep days.
Tweakened™ – Rocker is extended all the way out to the absolute ends of the board, unlocking new ride-able surface area for a bigger, more stable platform to press, float, and land on
Flex Rating – 7/10 (1=Soft,10=Stiff)
Volume Shift™ – Volume is moved from the tips and tails of traditional snowboard shapes and placed it underfoot where it can be better controlled. This makes a wider, shorter design that maintains the same float and stability of a traditional board, but increases mobility and maneuverability. More slashing and better lines in the trees are now a reality.
S1 Core – The smooth-flexing cousin to the A1 core, K2's new S1 core in designed to be damp underfoot and stronger than hell. Constructed from bamboo, aspen, and paulownia, the S1 core lets each wood do what it's best for. Tip-to-tail bamboo stringers add snap, durability, and dampening underfoot, and are balanced out by lightweight paulownia in the midbody, tip, and tail to help reduce swing weight. Underfoot, aspen and bamboo are placed at 30° angles to increase strength, supercharge edge-to-edge response, and increase pressure distribution along the edge.
ICG 10 Biaxial Glass – Integrating tip-to-tail carbon fiber stringers into fiberglass layups ensures a smooth power release in and out of turns while increasing pop, liveliness, and longevity of the snowboard without adding unnecessary rigidity.
Carbon Torque Forks – Adding carbon that extends from the inserts to the contact point allows for an extra responsive and stable ride.
Sintered 4000 Base – Sintered 4000 base absorbs wax deep into the material for relentless glide and unrivaled durability.
